The main purpose of this app is to record traffic patterns at intersections. This is done in a few ways: 1) recording the timestamps of the cars that enter and pass through the intersection and 2) when the stop light is red, the number of cars in the queue as well as the length of time that the cars are queued. This will enable future analysis of the traffic patterns of an intersection in relation to traffic obstructions like signals and bridges. The app is planned to be used by Dr. Zhang students to collect data to conduct further research.
