CS3911 Reading List: Week 12

Textbook Material
Read the following materials
  • Section 11.1 to Section 11.3
  • Slides Diff-Int.pdf in the common directory.

Do the following problems
From our text
  • Problems P11.1, P11.3, P11.5 You should use 2-point and 3-point forward, backward and central difference, and Richardson extrapolation methods to compute the results.
  • Problems P11.7, P11.9, P11.17 You should use trapezoid, Simpson 3-point, and Romberg methods to compute the results. Also, do two or three iterations of the iterative trapezoid and Simpson methods to ensure you know how to handle the update procedures.

You do not have to turn in your paper. What I really expect you to do is using these problems to gauge your understanding of the subject. So, do the problems after finish reading the above sections.
